Unfamiliarity with the Arabic language and limited access to Quranic learning resources cause many Muslim children to misread the Quran or not learn it altogether! Al Quran MP3 is here to help Muslim children read and memorize the Quran: one app that enhances Quranic literacy, assisting children to pronounce Arabic words correctly while understanding their meanings. 

The owner of Al Quran MP3 had a name and a vision. We turned it into a reality by designing and developing a feature-rich mobile application for iOS and Android with Murottal Al Quran audio, translation, transliteration, tafseer, tajwid, and other supporting features. The app has 100,000+ downloads and 4.6 stars, reflecting the quality of its features and ease of use.

Challenges

Al Quran MP3 wanted a mobile application that made Muslim children want to read and memorize the Quran. The challenge was to integrate multiple features (Murottal Al Quran audio, Quran recitation audio, translation, transliteration, tafseer, tajwid, bookmarking ayahs to track progress, showing or hiding translations, names of Allah, and salah guide) in one super-app while keeping the design simple and accessible.

Another challenge was time – from the initial scope to designing and developing the app and converting the functionalities in React Native, Al Quran MP3 was to be published on the Play Store and App Store in just 4 months!

Solutions

We took the challenge head-on with dedication. From day one, we established a strong communication channel with the client to gather accurate project requirements to understand the customer’s vision and avoid major changes later in the project. We leveraged our experience in scrum and agile project management methodologies and the MVP approach to define and prioritize core functionalities so that secondary features do not cause delays. Most importantly, we relied on the experience of expert senior developers, designers, and quality assurance engineers to deliver an all-encompassing, best-in-class super-app. With this laser-focused approach, we were able to publish the mobile app on the Play Store and App Store in just 4 months!

  • A New Way to Memorize the Quran – Listen to Murottal Al Quran to understand and memorize the Quran. The rhythmic and soothing audio allows children, and even adults, to recite the Quran following the rules of tajwid.
  • Track Your Quran Memorization Journey – Handy features like resizing the Arabic text, bookmarking ayahs for quick access, copying and sharing ayahs and their translation, and adding notes with each verse make it easier than ever to memorize the Quran.
  • Find accurate prayer timings – Al Quran MP3 provides accurate prayer timings for the five daily prayers (salah) to users for their location. We utilized a combination of geolocation, astronomical, and Islamic prayer time calculation methods to enable location-specific prayer times for users anywhere in the world. Our calculations automatically adjust prayer timings for daytime savings and provide custom notifications.

Project Impact

The Al Quran MP3 mobile app combines Quranic literacy, Quran memorization, and Salah (prayer) literacy in one digital product. It is a new standard for the Quran recitation mobile applications. As a result, the Al Quran MP3 mobile application quickly gained popularity – accumulating over 100,000 downloads on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The 5.0 and 4.6 ratings on the App Store and Play Store highlight the app’s excellent User Interface (UI) and functionality. With innovation and user-centricity, DynamoLogic Solutions successfully created a Quran memorization mobile application that set a standard for Quran literacy apps in Ukraine and worldwide.
